Fireworks spark New Year's Eve fire that damaged Spring Hill home

Improperly disposed fireworks were determined to be the cause of a fire that damaged a Spring Hill home on New Year's Eve.

According to the Spring Hill Fire Department, emergency crews were dispatched to a single-story home in the Cobblestone Subdivision just after 11 p.m. after the unidentified homeowner reported the fire and escaped the house uninjured with his family.

The blaze damaged the home's garage and attic, and SHFD said that the fire was caused after used fireworks were disposed in a trashcan.
