If you want your friends or family who come to stay to really get a feel for the South, you’ve got to take them to Puckett’s. From biscuits and gravy with country ham to meat and three options and barbecue, it’s the place my own Southern parents ask to go every time they come to visit. There’s several locations but the downtown Franklin location became the first full-service restaurant of the brand in 2004. Known for its live music scene in addition to the food, Andy Marshall bought Puckett’s Grocery in Leiper’s Fork in 1998 and by 2002 he turned the store into a restaurant and venue combo. Now, he’s expanded the concept across eight locations including one in Alabama.
