According to an affidavit filed in the Williamson County General Sessions court, police responded to a Clare Park Drive home just after 3 a.m. after Mason allegedly hit the woman in the face.

Police reported that she had a “fresh laceration on her bottom lip” and she told police that she heard 31-year-old Mason “trying to break in” to her home, adding that Mason knew a keycode to the home’s lock and “knew that he was not welcomed inside the residence.”

The woman reported that Mason entered the bedroom where he “choked me out” and took her necklace before punching her in the mouth and said that he was going to kill her.

The woman also showed police a screenshot of a text message she received that allegedly showed Mason’s face with the message, “I’m going to kill you.”

Mason was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, harassment and driving on a suspended license and was booked on a $150,000 bond.

Mason is a 10-year NFL veteran who last played for the Houston Texans in 2024. The 6-1, 310-pound guard is not currently under contract with any team.

A fourth-round pick of New England in 2015, Mason spent his first seven seasons with the Patriots, helping the team win the Super Bowl in 2016 and 2018. He has played in 152 NFL games, starting 147.

He was a star at Columbia Central High School, serving two years as a team captain. He helped the school reach the state 5A title games in 2009 and 2010, winning the championship in 2010, and was an All-American in 2014 at Georgia Tech, where he played four seasons.
