Construction of Jordan Elementary School is nearly finished. Crews still need to finish the interior of the school, including electrical wiring and plumbing. Williamson County Schools expects the building to be ready before the first day of classes on Aug. 10.
In a video released by Williamson County Schools on June 14, the principal of Jordan Elementary Chad Walker walks through the school’s cafeteria, library and gym.
The video shows construction workers building the circulation desk at the library and an unfinished elevator shaft. Two classrooms look mostly finished, but they still need furniture.

The district hasn’t finished landscaping, and there is still construction equipment in the school’s parking lot.
The district’s Facilities and Construction Department estimates that construction will be mostly finished by July 15. The district is planning a ribbon cutting for the new campus on Aug. 5 at 3:30 p.m.
School administrators have been working out of Kenrose Elementary during construction. Walker wrote in an email that the staff hopes to move into the building by the middle of July.
The school had already hired 90 percent of the staff by early May, and there are still a few positions left to fill. The school is monitoring enrollment numbers over the summer to make sure it has enough staff.
The school is projecting that it will have 375 students between kindergarten and fifth grade. It will also have two early childhood classes and a pre-k class.
On Aug. 7, the school is hosting a back to school bash where parents and students can meet teachers, administrators and staff.
