Tennessee's U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett will serve as the new keynote speaker at the Williamson County GOP’s Reagan Day Gala.
U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett
Burchett is stepping up to the podium after its original speaker, Louisiana's U.S. Sen. John Kennedy, canceled his scheduled appearance, citing an undisclosed personal reason.
The Williamson County GOP calls Burchett a “passionate and dynamic leader who has consistently championed conservative values, known for his unwavering dedication to the principles we hold dear.”
Burchett currently serves on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee and Transporation and Infrastructor Committee.
On Jan. 21, Burchett announced in a social media post on X, that he'd been selected to serve on the Trump administration's newly-established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will be “modernizing federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity.”
The annual event serves as the Williamson County GOP’s biggest fundraiser and will return to Franklin’s Cool Springs Marriott on February 15.
It comes on the heels of Republican electoral wins both locally and nationally, most notably with the reelection of President Donald Trump.
Miller previously told the Williamson Scene that Williamson County Republicans were “in high spirits and excited” ahead of Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, which leads to complete GOP-control over the federal government after the start of the Republican-majority led 119th Congress.
“We would say that there's been a lack of leadership in so many areas, and so we're glad to get that back,” Miller said. “We hope that's going to be great for all Americans across the board. We do understand that the economy and different things like that do not turn on a dime. There'll be a lot of work. There'll be some ups and downs in this process, but we really hope for a really great trajectory for America and for the rest of the world as well.”
