The owners of Franklin-based vinyl retailer Luna Record Shop are planning a store at downtown’s Nashville Yards, with a year's-end opening slated.

The future business will operate from the structure that offers live music venue The Pinnacle and an address of 930 Exchange Lane.

Nashville-based Harvest Construction is handling the build-out of the space, which will offer about 2,300 square feet (twice the size of the original location).

Luna Record Shop is co-owned by sisters Brenna Gentry and Calvert Gentry McMahan.

Brenna Gentry told our sister publication the Post her son, Harrison Gentry, will operate the Nashville Yards Luna.

Fourth-generation Franklinites, the sisters opened the vinyl records store in November 2015 at The Factory at Franklin, located at 230 Franklin Road. It operates seven days a week, with the downtown shop to do likewise once opened.

Luna offers new and used vinyl, new CDs and cassettes, vintage music posters and various swag. The business also buys and trades product.

Brenna Gentry told the Post the team is not disclosing the cost to get operational or terms of the lease with Nashville Yards owners Southwest Value Partners.

"We’re thrilled to become part of the Nashville Yards community," Gentry said.

"Being steps away from The Pinnacle and surrounded by so much music, entertainment and energy feels like a natural fit for Luna. The larger space will give us room to expand our inventory, host more events and create more experiences around new releases and visiting artists. We’re also really looking forward to joining some of our favorite Nashville record shops in continuing the loop around the city for people who love spending the day digging through records and supporting local stores."
