Franklin Parks' annual Family Day returns on Nov. 4 with a live performance from Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band.
The free festival will take place from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm with the concert taking place from 1-4 p.m., with Stolen Silver opening the show.
In addition to the live music, free miniature train rides, hay rides, pony rides, and a petting zoo will be on site, and attendees can also enjoy cane pole fishing in the park's pond. Food will be available for purchase from a variety of vendors.
Sinise is an award-winning actor who is best known for his roles in Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, and CSI:NY.
Sinse has honored his family history of military service with the creation of the The Gary Sinise Foundation which supports veterans, first responders and their families "by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities."
The foundation moved their headquarters to Franklin in 2022.
"We are excited to salute the service of our local veterans, first responders, their families and the cities that they serve right here at home with a performance by our founder and Franklin resident Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band. We hope to see everyone there,” Gary Sinise Foundation Executive Director Donna Palmer said.
