Developed in the 1980s and ‘90s, Chenoweth was one of the first subdivisions developed in east Brentwood with extensive neighborhood amenities. It remains one of the city’s most popular subdivisions.
This community of more than 300 homes was created with a neighborhood swimming pool and clubhouse, two tennis courts, a playground for kids, some sidewalks, and underground utilities.
Back in the early ‘90s, the HOA dues in Chenoweth were $65 a month and they haven’t increased much since then.
Most of the homes here are situated on lots that are under an acre, making it attractive for people who don’t love yard work so much, and Chenoweth’s location puts most homeowners 10 to 15 minutes from the interstate, depending on the time of day.
The main entrance on Concord Road now has a traffic light, so getting in and out of the community has been greatly simplified.
Another entrance is at the Smithson Lane-Edmondson Pike intersection, just a few yards from the driveway of Edmondson Elementary School, where kids in Chenoweth go.
The community is also accessible by using Coxboro Drive, which connects it to neighboring Saratoga Hills, Foxboro and BrentMeade.
The houses were built by different homebuilders and include some custom homes, so there is a variety of style to be found, with most of the houses being two-story and traditional in design.
The neighborhood amenities have helped make Chenoweth a sociable neighborhood.
Not only do the residents have gatherings like the annual Christmas party, but there’s also a book club, tennis camps, and a swim team for the kids who live there.
The landscape committee does a “Yard of the Month” program too.
“The buyers coming from out of town feel a quick sense of belonging here,” said Linda Seaton of Benchmark Realty. “I love selling homes in Chenoweth.”
On March 28, there were six homes for sale in the subdivision, ranging in price from $479,900 to $694,500. All are multi-story traditional brick homes.
