A developer will bring a new proposal for changes to the pool at Scales Farmstead to the Nolensville Planning Commission on Tuesday night.
The developer had previously asked for approval to remove a kiddie pool from the amenities area in the subdivision.
At public meetings, residents protested the change, arguing that the pool was advertised to home buyers before they purchased the homes.
The developer argued that removing the pool would reduce the maintenance costs for the home owners association following development.
The Planning Commission deferred the vote and asked the developer to continue working with residents to find a solution.
Now, the developer has met with residents and will present a plan he think will receive support from homeowners.
The new plan shows a 4,000 square foot zero-entry pool. One end of the pool is five feet deep and will be designated for lap swimming.
According to an email from the developer that was submitted to the Planning Commission, the pool incorporates a play area for families with small children. Other than the pool, there won’t be any changes to the amenities plan.
The Planning Commission will also discuss an ongoing effort to update the town’s zoning ordinance. The Planning Department has been reviewing the entire zoning ordinance this year to look for inconsistencies or areas that need updates.
The Commission won’t vote on any changes to the zoning ordinance.
