Football Roundup: Franklin, Brentwood, Ravenwood, Page all win big

Week 6 of the high school football season is (mostly) finished and several Williamson County teams turned in impressive results.

Let's take a look at the rest of the Williamson County and Davidson County results from week 6.

Franklin 38 Summit 7 (Thursday)

Franklin (4-2, 2-0) has now won three games in a row after another dominant, high-scoring win over a fellow Williamson County school. Franklin's four wins are the most the program has had in a season since 2020. 

Senior Brewer Wilson tossed five touchdowns and threw for 258 yards on 13-21 passing as the Admirals handled Summit (1-5, 0-2) with ease. Sean Gaca, our reigning Player of the Week, compiled 77 total yards and two receiving touchdowns. 

Luke Thompson also scored a pair of touchdowns, one on a 20-yard rush and one on a 28-yard catch, while Luca Young caught four passes for 120 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown. Wils Jackson was also on the receiving end of a Wilson TD strike.

Quarterback Mason McElhaney notched Summit's lone score, a 10-yard rush, early in the second quarter.

Next week, Franklin will travel to Brentwood for a major region battle. Summit will host Ravenwood on Thursday.

Brentwood 42 Overton 6 (Thursday)

The Bruins (5-1, 2-0) continue to perform on both sides of the ball. This is the third consecutive game they've allowed six points or less and third game scoring at least 30 points.

Junior quarterback J.C. White scored three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing), while Canon Kinder, a state champion in track and field, added another through the air. 

Prolific senior running back Gavyn Nelson notched touchdowns on the ground and as a receiver, and freshman Hank DeGennaro caught a pair of scores. Sophomore Parker Emerson also returned an interception 16 yards to the end zone.

Brentwood will face Franklin in the aforementioned region showdown, while Overton (2-4, 0-2) will host winless Independence. 

Ravenwood 37 Independence 0

Two teams on opposite trajectories met in this all-WillCo matchup as Ravenwood (6-0, 2-0) stayed unbeaten, while Independence (0-6, 0-2) has been shut out in three of its six losses. 

The Raptors have now shut out three opponents and held five of six to single-digits, only allowing double-digits in the season-opening win on the road at 9-time defending Class 3A champions Alcoa. Ravenwood has also scored 37 or more in four wins and at least 27 in five.

Independence, meanwhile, has yet to score more than 14 points in a game and has given up at least 28 in five of six losses. 

Ravenwood will head to Summit next week, and Independence will visit Overton.

Page 62 Glencliff 0

What a start to the season for Page (6-0). The Patriots have still yet to give up a point six games into the season. But that doesn't mean they are all defense; Page has also scored 222 points over those six games.

Quarterback Mitchell Grandjean had three touchdowns in the win over Glencliff, two passing (both to Maclean Copeland) and one rushing. Isaac Otey, David Flores, and Colin Mulick all also added rushing scores.

The defense scored four times on its own, forcing a safety and running back three fumbles for touchdowns (Eli Whitson, Jordan Curll and Will Blair). 

Page will travel to Bellevue to take on region foe Lawson (2-4) next week.
