UPDATE (July 24, 3:30 p.m.): WCSO has released a photo of the white Ford F-250 truck driven by an unidentified man who detectives said shot at another driver on Friday, July 21.
According to an updated WCSO news release, the unidentified victim's vehicle was initially traveling east on Murfreesboro Road near Arno Road when the suspect's truck attempted to pass the victim and struck several construction cones.
When the victim turned onto the eastbound ramp on I-840 at Horton Highway, law enforcement said that the driver of the truck shot at the victim, striking the victim's vehicle once, resulting in no injuries.
Now detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information on the shooting or the suspect's truck to call Crime Stoppers at (615) 794-4000, submit a tip online at cswctn.com or contact WCSO Detective Sergeant Stephen Shaver at 615-790-5554, extension 3235.
Original Story (July 21, 5:19 p.m.):
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a road rage incident that saw a man allegedly shoot another vehicle on the Eastbound Interstate 840 ramp at Horton Highway.
According to a WCSO social media post, the incident occurred around 1:20 p.m. on Friday when an unidentified man in a white Ford F-250 truck allegedly shot at another vehicle with a handgun, striking the unidentified victim's vehicle one time near its taillight.
No one was injured in the shooting which shut down the ramp until just before 4 p.m.
According to WCSO Public Information Officer Lt. Becky Coyle, the suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived, and they are working to identify the man.
Deputies continue to investigate the incident and no further information has been released at this time.
