Although Page High School came up just short of its ultimate goal of winning a state football championship in December, falling to Sevier County 27-20 in the Class 5A state title game, the Patriots’ senior class left a lasting mark on not only the program, but Tennessee high school football as a whole. The Page seniors closed their careers in Rudderville by making it to four-consecutive state championship games – rarified air in the competitive Class 5A field. With stars like Mr. Football winner Eric Hazzard (Louisville), pass rusher extraordinaire Brenden Anes (Tennessee) and do-everything playmaker William Wiebush (Wake Forest) heading off to Division I college football, Friday nights are going to look a lot different at Page.
