Franklin Police, Fire Department to host memorial observance of 9/11 Tuesday morning

The Franklin Fire and Police departments will come together in their annual tribute to the nearly 3,000 who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The public is invited to join a brief ceremony at the Franklin Police headquarters, located at 900 Columbia Avenue and beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Retired New York City Police Officer Gary Poggiali will join Mayor Ken Moore, City Administrator Eric Stuckey, Police Chief Deborah Faulkner and Fire Chief Rocky Garzarek.

“People often search for somewhere to go and reflect on this day,” said Chief Faulkner in a release from the department. “We invite them to do it here, with the men and women who serve and protect Franklin, every day.”
