The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Franklin and Senior Helpers are hosting an interactive experience to help caretakers understand what it is like to walk in the shoes of individuals living with dementia.

A free virtual dementia bus tour will be given Wednesday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the assisted living community, located at 1005 Generations Way in Franklin, across from Westhaven.

Resources and information will be available for caregivers and family members of those living with dementia.

The virtual dementia tour outfits participants with devices that mimic the tactile feelings, sights and sounds experienced by those living with dementia. Participants then are asked to carry out several everyday tasks.

Designers of the tour suggest it for caregivers and other family members, police, fire and medical personnel, church and community groups, and businesses.
