Williamson Weekly: TriStar Cuts Ribbon on Nolensville ER

TriStar is set to open a freestanding emergency room in Nolensville on Oct. 21. 

The facility at the corner of Nolensville Pike and Burkitt Place Drive offers 11,000 square feet, 11 treatment rooms, imaging services, and an on-site laboratory and pharmacy, according to a press release.  

Contractors broke ground on the facility earlier this year, and hosted a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday. TriStar Nolensville ER is a branch of the TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center located in South Nashville.  

“Nolensville is one of the fastest growing areas in the state, and TriStar Nolensville ER is ready to provide high-quality care 24/7,” Nick Howald, chief executive officer at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, said at the event. “This facility not only addresses an immediate need for emergency care but also reflects our long-term commitment to being a trusted partner in this special community. Our team is committed to excellence and proud to serve the area many of us call home.”

TriStar, the local brand of Nashville-based hospital giant HCA Healthcare, is also planning a hospital in Spring Hill on the site of its current freestanding emergency room. 

Nonprofit FrankTown breaks ground on facility

FrankTown Open Hearts, a nonprofit serving youth, is set to break ground on a new facility in Franklin. 

The site, at the corner of Granbury Street and Academy Street behind the Williamson County Public Library, will offer 16,000 square feet. FrankTown in 2021 was granted a lease agreement at $1 per year for 20 years from the Williamson County Board of Commissioners on the piece of property. The organization then announced plans to eventually build on the site. 

The new facility will have a multi-purpose hall, automotive bay, classrooms, a kitchen, computer science lab and a performing arts studio, according to a press release. FrankTown, a Christian program, offers services to youth six days per week including mentoring programs, spiritual programming, vocational training, tutoring, performance and arts offerings, and nightly meals. 

The nonprofit has raised $7 million of the $9.25 million necessary for the facility.

Williamson Health starts podcast

Williamson Health announced the launch of its own podcast. 

Health Talks: From the Inside Out debuted on Oct. 10 with six episodes. Guests are Williamson Health Medical Group physicians including a sleep medicine physician, a general surgeon, a urogynecologist and a registered dietician. Williamson Health plans to release two new podcasts per month in the months following, according to a press release.  

“Health Talks: From the Inside Out gives us a new way to connect with our community,” Michele Simpson, Williamson Health chief marketing and communications officer and host of the podcast, said in the release.

“We’ve envisioned a project like this for quite some time, and we’re thrilled to finally bring it to life. The podcast serves as another way to share the important work happening within Williamson Health and the voices of our providers and other healthcare professionals. Listeners will hear directly from our experts about their philosophies of care, learn about the wide range of services we provide and gain practical tips for living healthier lives.”

Williamson Health was rebranded from Williamson Medical Center in 2023. The private health system is considering a sale, citing concerns with staffing and insurance reimbursement. It also recently opened a Cool Springs clinic.
