WCS Students Named Merit Semifinalists
Williamson County Schools has announced that 60 of its high school students were named National Merit Semifinalists.
Of 1.3 million students to take the qualifying test each year, 16,000 receive the honor. To become a finalist, semifinalists must submit an application including information about their academic record as well as participation in school activities, employment and other extracurricular activities.
The two schools with the most semifinalists were Brentwood High School and Ravenwood High School with 14 and 13 students, respectively.
In 2024, a record-breaking 80 students from WCS were named finalists.
"Accomplishments like this open a lot of doors for our students," says WCS superintendent Jason Golden. "I want to say congratulations to them, and their teachers and families, on this achievement."
