Fire damages College Grove home

Williamson County Fire Rescue, the Nolensville Volunteer Fire Department, Arrington Fire and Rescue, Eagleville Fire Rescue Department and other first responder agencies responded to a house fire on Cox Road on Tuesday evening which displaced a family.

According to an AFR social media post, dispatchers who took the 911 call reported that callers advised that they were hearing the sounds of explosions as well as seeing heavy flames and smoke, as well as the sound of the caller who was screaming for help.

Crews were dispatched to the historic 1800's-era home in College Grove around 6 p.m. where they found the home on fire and found two occupants outside and safe from the blaze.

According to a WCFR social media post, the accidental fire was caused by an outdoor grease fire on a grill, and AFR reported that the fire then became a gas-fed fire that spread to the rear of the home.

A portion of Cox Road was shut down for a duration of the response that saw crews on scene past midnight.

The family was displaced by the fire, but no one was injured, and they were issued housing aid by the American Red Cross.
