Williamson Health

In the wake of the announcement last week that independently owned Williamson Health would be acquired by Ascension Healthcare, Vanderbilt University Medical Center released a statement reinforcing its partnership with Williamson Health.

VUMC was not part of the bids, which came down to for-profit hospital giant HCA and Catholic hospital group Ascension St. Thomas Healthcare, as well as Minnesota-based hospital company Optum. Both HCA and Ascension have been expanding their presence in Williamson County, including a plan for a freestanding emergency room in Fairview for each.

Vanderbilt Health had worked in joint operations with Williamson Health in pediatric emergency department and inpatient services, according to a press release. VUMC is also planning a presence at the former AT&T property on Franklin Road in Brentwood.

“We will continue to provide Williamson County residents with convenient access to world-class expertise and integrated primary and specialty care regardless of the outcome from the hospital sale process,” the organization stated in a press release.

Anthropologie moves to The Factory

Anthropologie is making the move from downtown to The Factory at Franklin, Williamson Source reported.

The former location at 335 Main St. is set to close on August 14, according to the Anthropologie website. It will be relocated to the former MAFIAoza’s building, a freestanding building outside of the factory.  It will also include a courtyard to showcase garden items from its Terrain brand, Williamson Source reported. The MAFIAoza’s established its Franklin area presence in 2017, and it also closed its Nashville location in 2024.

Historic Zoning Commission renderings reflect minor changes to the new space at 230 Franklin Rd. The fashion retailer is also set to include Anthropologie Weddings items as well. An opening date has yet to be announced.

"Acquiring this business wasn't just a good opportunity—it was meant to be," said Will Mason, founder and CEO of Mason Music. "Schylar and I have become friends through this process, and we're thrilled that he's now part of the Mason Music team as our Director of Recording. He's helping us launch a student record label, something that's been on our dream list for years. We couldn't be more excited to serve the Brentwood community with high-quality music lessons."
