Williamson Weekly: TriStar, Ascension Saint Thomas Plan Fairview Sites

TriStar and Ascension Saint Thomas have both announced plans to bring a freestanding emergency department to Fairview. 

The Ascension Saint Thomas facility would cost $20.6 million, and is set to be located alongside Dickson Medical Associates. TriStar, part of HCA Healthcare, has filed for a certificate of need for a project that would cost a projected $21 million, according to a press release. 

​​“This new freestanding emergency department ensures Fairview residents have access to lifesaving care close to home when every minute matters,” said Fahad Tahir, president and CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas. “By co-locating emergency services alongside Dickson Medical Associates’ physician-led care, we are creating a coordinated healthcare campus that improves access, convenience and outcomes for Fairview families.”

A subsidiary of TriStar Horizon in Dickson, the Fairview facility would be the second county freestanding emergency department in Williamson County,  following Nolensville, which opened in October. The proposed emergency department would be open 24/7 and offer 11 treatment rooms, laboratory and imaging services.

By bringing this proposed emergency department directly into the community, we can improve access, reduce travel time and ensure patients receive high-quality treatment close to home.”

The hospitals are capitalizing on newer, looser certificate of need laws in Tennessee, an are in a similar battle in Clarksville. In order for a new health care facility to be built, it must first earn a certificate of need from the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission. The certificate proves, in short, that there is a need for the project, that it will be a high-quality space and that it offers an advantage to consumers.

Pelato to open in Franklin

Pelato’s Franklin location is set to open on March 2, the Brooklyn Italian restaurant announced on its website. 

Pelato Franklin is located at 1914 Galleria Blvd., the site last home to Party Fowl, near the Cool Springs Galleria complex. Pelato offers shareable small plates and is known for potato croquettes, radiatori vodka and burnt broccolini. 

This will be the third location for the restaurant, which was announced in December. The Scotto family in May opened its second Pelato location in Charleston, South Carolina, with the first location having debuted in Germantown in 2023. The family also owns Luogo in The Gulch, which opened in 2022, and operates under Avenue T Hospitality. 

Esports hub opens in Franklin 

Esports hub ONEZENO has opened a location inside the Franklin Walmart at 3600 Mallory Lane. 

ONEZENO, The Ultimate Place for Gamers offers weekly competitions in esports and training sessions for people ages 15 and up. It also offers a professional-grade streaming booth for broadcasting and recording content. Franklin is the company’s first location.
