Man killed in early morning crash in West Nashville

Metro Nashville Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed an 81-year-old man on Monday morning.

Police identified the driver as Nashvillian Jimmie Chandler who was killed at the scene of the crash after his Mazda Miata crossed into the center median before striking a digital message sign pole on Interstate 40 East near McCrory Lane at 6:30 a.m.

Police said that there were no signs of impairment and are continuing to investigate the crash.
