One Generation Away to host mobile food pantry Saturday in Franklin

Franklin nonprofit One Generation Away will give away free groceries on Saturday, Jan. 6.

The drive-thru style mobile pantry will distribute food beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Centennial High School, and anyone is welcome to receive the fresh produce, dairy, pantry staples, baked goods, and more, no questions asked.

According to a news release, the food will be available until 10 a.m., or while supplies last, and volunteers are welcome to help and are asked to arrive at 7:30 a.m. 

“Every time we get to serve in our home base of Franklin is special,” OneGenAway CEO and founder Chris Whitney said in a release.

“We know that one in 10 Americans are making a choice between buying food and paying for another critical need, such as utilities, rent, or medication, even in Williamson County. We are grateful to be part of a community that works together to help eliminate those impossible decisions.”
