Tractor Supply Company held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday for its new corporate headquarters in the Virginia Springs development at 5401 Virginia Way in Brentwood.

“Finally, after a number of years, we’re all together again in one seamless campus,” CEO Greg Sanford told his employees.

Previously, TSC leased facilities in three separate buildings within Maryland Farms, just one block away from the new offices.

The new headquarters, referred to as the “Store Support Center,” brings almost 900 employees for the country’s largest operator of retail farm and ranch stores under one roof.

“We’re excited about the new facility where we’re all together,” Sanford told Brentwood Home Page.

“We looked at Cool Springs and Davidson County, but this is a convenient location. The city of Brentwood has been very accommodating the years we’ve been here and we appreciate our partnership.”

TSC first moved to Brentwood in 2004, and Sanford said the new building is a testament to the company’s commitment to the area.

“More important than anything is Tractor Supply’s choice to stay in Brentwood and Williamson County,” Williamson Inc. CEO Matt Largen said. “The Chamber commits to taking care of our existing companies because 75 percent of new job growth comes from existing companies who expand.”

With the new LEED-certified building totaling 260,000 square feet, TSC will have room to do exactly that.

Vice President of Tractor Supply Real Estate Clay Teter said as of mid-September, all of the company’s 900 employees have officially settled into their new offices.

He said because of the company’s culture, traffic has not even been an issue.

“We don’t blow the whistle here. People come in at 6, 7, 8 a.m. and leave anywhere between 5 p.m. and midnight, so we don’t have that backup.”

The new state of the art building utilizes the most up-to-date energy efficient technology and features a self-service market, a nursing mother and wellness center, as well as a 24/7 fitness center.

There is even a 24-acre park to the back, which was donated to the city of Brentwood.

“This facility was designed carefully to consider the impact to the environment,” Sanford said.

And the area is not done expanding yet – there are still two buildings totaling 200,000 square feet yet to be leased.
