For years, The Country Boy in Leiper’s Fork has been a soft place to land for the community. Good southern cooking doesn’t get much better than The Country Boy, best known for dishes like their mouth-watering, made-from-scratch biscuits and gravy or their southern-fried steak. Upstairs, it’s all good food and good company, but if you walk down to the basement, you’ll find a pleasant and rather unexpected surprise. The Tornado Room features weekly live music, where up-and-coming local artists add ambiance to the swanky cocktail lounge. There are a few guest surprises that trail through The Tornado Room, as well, like when country superstar Shaboozey made his way into the secret speakeasy to sing a few of his top hits. There’s never a dull moment at The Tornado Room. It’s kind of like the cool, artsy uncle of Leiper’s Fork.
