The first-ever TSSAA-sanctioned lacrosse state championships took place over the weekend, and four Williamson County schools came away as winners.

In the girls Class A tournament, Page and Centennial advanced past the first round with ease. The Patriots defeated Ooltewah 16-2 and the Cougars beat Soddy Daisy 19-3, setting up an all-WillCo semifinal showdown. Page prevailed 12-4 to advance to the championship game.

In the title match, the Patriots (11-7) won by just one goal, 13-12, over Seymour at Ravenwood High School on Saturday. Sarah Jane Johnston and Emry Thompson tied for the team lead with four goals each. 

In the girls Class AA tournament, Franklin and Brentwood won their respective first-round matchups. The Admirals defeated Houston 13-6 and the Bruins knocked off Collierville 17-7. In another all-WillCo semifinal outing, Brentwood won 10-7 over Franklin.

In the championship game on Saturday, also at Ravenwood, Brentwood (18-3) dominated Cookeville 14-4. Ava Sandberg paced the Bruins with five goals. 

CPA fell to USN 11-10 in the first round of the Division II-Class A girls tournament. 

In the boys Class A bracket, Centennial bowed out in the first round to eventual champion Hillsboro 9-3. Page won 17-4 over Green Hill in the first round before also eventually succumbing to Hillsboro, 10-5. 

The Class AA boys bracket saw three WillCo teams in action. In round one, Franklin beat Collierville 15-2, Ravenwood knocked off Houston 17-9 and Nolensville defeated Hardin Valley 17-12.

In yet another all-Williamson semifinal game, the Admirals won 12-11 in an overtime thriller over the Raptors. The Knights advanced on the other side of the bracket with a 15-9 win over Farragut, setting up an all-county showdown in the championship on Saturday at Nolensville High School.

The Knights (14-4) took advantage of the home atmosphere with a 10-4 win over Franklin (14-4). Jake Manning notched a team-high three goals, while Aaron Sylvester had four assists. 

In the Division II-Class A boys tournament, CPA cruised to a 23-1 first-round win over St. George's and an 11-5 win over Ensworth in the semifinals.

In the title game on Friday at NHS, CPA won 8-6 over Knoxville Webb. Isaac El Gammal led the way with three goals.
