The week final votes for the week 8 Football Player of the Week have been tallied, and this week's winner is Franklin Road Academy's Mike Hassell, who received 52 percent of the vote.
The junior running back ran for 143 yards and score three touchdowns in the Panthers' 39-14 win over Battle Ground Academy last week. The victory helped FRA stay undefeated on the season.
FRA (8-0, 4-0) is off this week, but the Panthers will host fellow unbeaten CPA (8-0, 4-0) in a massive Division II-AA Middle Region bout on Oct. 25.
The other nominees for Player of the Week were: CPA's Hutson Chance, Brentwood Academy's Kesean Bowman, Nashville Christian's Jared Curtis, Ensworth's Justin Hopkins, and Lipscomb Academy's Drew Patterson.
