Nashville-based Regent Homes broke ground on two neighborhoods in Fairview on Friday morning.

According to a release, Fairview City Center and Bowie Meadows will have 400 to 600 homes priced between $400,000 and $800,000. National builder Lennar will build both single-family homes and townhomes in the communities. Regent says it hopes to go vertical on construction within a year.

Regent tells The News it purchased two tracts of land for the communities at around $6 million total. The company also said they have already invested around $250,000 more during the planning and zoning process as they get ready for the building phase. In total, the developer expects its total investment to be around $275 million for both communities.

“Mayor Lisa Anderson and city officials worked diligently to make Fairview City Center and Bowie Meadows a reality," Regent Homes President David McGowan said in the release. "Fairview City Center will offer convenient new opportunities for shopping, dining and health care and other services for everyone living in Fairview.”

Fairview City Center will also have 15,000 square feet for retail space and 7,000 square feet for restaurant space. The neighborhoods will also be connected to trails that lead to the Bowie Nature Park that sits just beside the property at 7100 City Center Circle.

The neighborhood will offer parks and an amphitheater as well as a pool, pickle ball court and fitness facilities. Regent said in the release Fairview City Center will be similar to Lenox Village in Nashville, which the company developed in 2000. Regent also notes Smith Gee Studio worked on the plans City Center and RaganSmith did the planning for Bowie Meadows.

"There has always been a desire for a gathering place for our community in the center of our city," Fairview Mayor Lisa Anderson said in the release. "Our citizens are looking forward to new restaurants and retail which make Fairview a great place to live, work and shop. Walkability has always been important to our citizens, and with our new City Center being in close proximity to several new neighborhoods this will be accomplished."

The release also notes sewer service will be provided to the new neighborhoods by the City of Dickson. Regent will install the sewer pump and lines for the properties. The company will also take the initiative to get a turn lane and traffic light off of the main road into the neighborhood.
