A Texas man is facing numerous charges after allegedly injuring a man during the robbery of a Franklin ATM on Thursday, while another suspect remains on the run.

According to a Williamson County Court affidavit, 22-year-old Marcell Beaver of Texarkana, Texas, was charged with robbery, theft over $60,000/under $250,000, assault, vandalism, evading arrest, possession of stolen property, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, failure to render aid and immediate notice of an accident, after an hours-long manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies. 

Franklin Police responded to the Ascend Federal Credit Union on Aspen Grove Drive at approximately 1:31 p.m. According to the affidavit, police said that Beaver and another unidentified suspect, who a Franklin Police spokesperson only described as a Black male, approached a man from behind who was working on the bank’s ATM. 

According to the affidavit, the suspects “shoved him into the ATM and a pole and began stealing the cash boxes from inside the ATM,” taking more than $60,000. The affidavit does not mention the use of a weapon, but the victim reported having shoulder pain.

The affidavit states that the duo fled in a black Nissan sedan that had been rented in Texas and bore a stolen Tennessee license plate. The car struck another vehicle before crashing near the intersection of General George Patton Drive and Brentwood Pointe III. A woman driving the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The suspects ran from the crash, and Beaver was arrested about five hours later, based upon Franklin Police’s social media posts.

“Marcell Beaver was later apprehended on foot after security cameras and concerned citizens observed him running through the area,” the affidavit reads in part. “One of the stolen bank boxes was located in the area Marcell Beaver was apprehended. Numerous bank boxes were located empty with pieces missing and broken and are estimated to be worth less than $1,000.”
