U.S. Sen. Bill Hagerty announced his reelection bid on Tuesday ahead of the November 2026 election.
Hagerty has been among several Republicans whose names have been floated for Tennessee’s next governor, including fellow Sen. Marsha Blackburn who could lead the pack, but it’s now clear that Hagerty aims to continue to serve Tennesseans in Washington D.C.
“It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve the men and women of Tennessee, and I am committed to the fight for our shared values, our freedoms, and the future of our great state and nation,” Hagerty said in a statement, adding that his priorities include “lower taxes, energy independence, secure borders, and the rule of law,” and to “ensure that President Trump’s America First agenda succeeds in his second term and beyond.”
Hagerty’s campaign is touting nearly $9 million in campaign funds raised during this cycle, with almost $2.5 million in contributions less than $200.
In August 2024, Hagerty kicked off a state-wide economic development tour which included a stop at Spring Hill’s Worldwide Stages.
