Brentwood Police Department assistant chief Jim Colvin has been selected to attend the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy.
Colvin will attend the 10-week program this summer, serving as the department's third officer to take part in the advanced law enforcement training at the U.S. Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia.
According to a news release, the invitation-only program will provide Colvin and other attendees training in “intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, and forensic science.”
“The academy is designed for those in law enforcement who have senior leadership capabilities and potential," BPD Police Chief and FBI National Academy alumnus Richard Hickey said. "This is a great honor and opportunity for Jim."
