The Williamson County Public Library System has introduced two new year-round children’s reading programs “designed to spark a lifelong love of reading.”
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program encourages parents and caregivers to read 1,000 books with their children before they start school to promote early literacy and language development, while the 500 Books Before Middle School program encourages independent reading and helps children build reading skills as they prepare for the academic challenges of middle school.
WCPLS will kick off the new programs on Nov. 9 at the Main Library in Franklin, in partnership with United Way of Greater Nashville and local author Jeff Crossan.
