Mother and Son stock

While we may still be awaiting the news of impending snow, the Williamson County Performing Arts Center will be under a freeze warning either way: Disney’s Frozen Jr. will host several performances of the show this weekend. The library in Brentwood is hosting a morning of bingo and bagels from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Boy moms can take a day in the woods at Deer Run to get away from it all in nature with planned activities at a Mother-Son Dinner Date. Bledsoe Creek State Park is hosting a huge craft and creativity fair. And your older ones might enjoy a moment of peace and quiet at a night of music and meditation in Nashville.

As part of our series on free cheap things to do with the family, here is our weekly roundup of places to spend time together over the next week:

Disney’s 'Frozen Jr.'

The Williamson County Performing Arts Center will host Disney’s Frozen Jr., the story of household names and Princesses Anna and Elsa. This play will expand on the sisters’ relationship and journey of sisterhood. The shows begin Feb. 21 and run through Feb. 23, and cost $15 per person.

Bingo and Bagels

On Feb. 22, the John P. Holt Brentwood Library is calling folks out to enjoy a morning of bagels and bingo. The Saturday morning event will include prizes for winners and bagels for all and is free for the family. Bring your lucky rabbit’s foot or trinket, and look for some books to take home to read after.

Deer Run’s Mother-Son Dinner Date

Deer Run’s Mother-Son Dates happen just a couple times a year and include a bevy of fun happenings at Deer Run. The camp opens for mothers and sons to enjoy some time away from their normal routine and connect in the wild. The day, which takes place on Feb. 23, costs $39.95, includes hiking, adventure, campfires, ziplining and more.

Maker Market and Craft Fair

The Bledsoe Creek Maker Market and Craft Fair is both a craft show and family-friendly gathering to stoke creativity. Entry is free and is outdoors at a state park on Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees should expect to walk more than a mile through the campground to enjoy the fair.

Music and Meditation Night in the Garden

Gardens of Babylon Landscapes in Nashville is hosting a Music and Meditation Night in the Garden hosted by Stephanie Brown of Heart of Wisdom Yoga on Feb. 20. The night will include live music and guided meditation in a serene environment. “This in-person event promises to be a delightful evening of music and mindfulness. Take advantage of this opportunity to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul amidst the beauty of the garden,” the event description reads. This event is best for your older family members and costs $10 per person.
