A Fairview High School student was arrested on Friday, Dec. 13 after bringing a gun on a school bus, according to Williamson County Schools.
Few details have been publicly released, but a Williamson County Sheriff's Office told the Williamson Scene that the student is a juvenile.
It's unclear at this time if the student is being charged as a juvenile or an adult, and the exact charges against the unidentified student have not been released.
According to a Williamson County Schools spokesperson, an email was sent to FVHS parents on Saturday morning that said that the student was arrested by WCSO deputies after the student was found to have had “a loaded handgun on the school bus after school.”
“The consequences for bringing a loaded handgun onto any school property are severe,” the email reads in part. “It is an automatic zero tolerance offense, meaning removal from school for one year, in addition to all of the legal ramifications that a student faces for this type of offense.”
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
